SEASON

Growing conditions were perfect with settled warm weather patterns throughout spring provided optimal flowering conditions and extended dry periods mid summer to autumn. These conditions allowed fruit to reach optimal ripeness.  As a result, 2019 will be fondly remembered as a vintage that produced an abundance of high-quality wines.

HARVEST

By hand in late March and early April.

VINIFICATION

The grapes were destemmed and then very gently pressed to open top fermenters. Twice daily plunging during fermentation before an extended maceration period post fermentation. The wine was aged in seasoned French barrels for 12 months before a light fining and bottling.

TASTING NOTES

Bright vibrant purple with a dense dark core. Lifted and intense aromas of black Doris plums, cassis and vanilla spice with complex savoury undertones. Rich, soft and opulent with lovely ripe tannins providing a well-structured wine with warmth and generosity.
