2024 Single Estate Marsanne

VARIETAL

100% Marsanne

 

VINEYARDS

Sourced from a very small single vineyard site of organically grown vines on Waiheke Island.

HARVEST

By hand in late February.

 

VINIFICATION

The fruit was gently whole bunch pressed to French oak barriques (33% new). Following a period of lees contact the wine was racked, blended and bottled.

 

TASTING NOTES

A rich, textural white with notes of stone fruit, beeswax and underlying hints of honeysuckle. The distinctive varietal aromas of this premium fruit have been subtly enhanced with barrel fermentation, creating a textured, elegant wine style.

2024 Single Estate Chardonnay

VARIETAL
100% Chardonnay

 

VINEYARDS
The best grapes are selected from a small parcel of north facing vines tucked out of the wind near
Waiheke’s Whakanewha Regional Park.

HARVEST
By hand in late February.

 

VINIFICATION
The fruit was gently whole bunch pressed to French oak barriques (25% new). Following a period of lees contact the wine was racked, blended and bottled.

 

TASTING NOTES

An elegant, pale gold in the glass. The palate is multi-layered and complex with spice, nuts, stone fruit and green apple with great acidity and a fine-grained texture. The finish is clean and refined.

2022 Single Estate Meritage

VARIETAL

38% Cabernet Sauvignon |22% Merlot | 22% Petit Verdot | 18% Franc

 

VINEYARDS

Owhanake Peninsular, Waiheke Island. Planted in 1992, one of the earliest red blend plantings on the island. Sandy clay soils within a natural amphitheatre fanned by afternoon sea breezes.

 

SEASON

The 2022 growing season on Waiheke Island was widely regarded as exceptional, offering near-ideal conditions. The summer was warm, dry, and settled, with extended periods of sunshine and minimal disease pressure. Daytime temperatures consistently hovered in the mid-to-high 20 degree Celsius, while cooler evenings helped retain acidity in the fruit.

 

HARVEST

By hand in late March and early April.

 

VINIFICATION

The grapes were destemmed and then very gently pressed to open top fermenters. Twice daily plunging during fermentation before an extended maceration period post fermentation. The wine was aged in seasoned French barrels for 12 months before a light fining and bottling.

 

TASTING NOTES

Bright vibrant purple with a dense dark core. Lifted and intense aromas of black Doris plums, cassis and vanilla spice with complex savoury undertones. Rich, soft and opulent with lovely ripe tannins providing a wellstructured wine with warmth and generosity

2022 Single Estate Syrah

VARIETAL

100% Syrah

 

VINEYARDS

TASTING NOTES

Bright purple in the glass. Lifted aromas of blackberry along with hints of ripe plums and spice. This is a medium bodied wine showing an abundance of sweet fruit and ripe silky tannins. The oak is well judged and contributes to the persistent finish.
