01

2023 Single Estate Marsanne

VARIETAL

100% Marsanne

VINEYARDS

Sourced from a very small single vineyard site of organically grown vines on Waiheke Island.

SEASON

Growing conditions were almost perfect throughout the year, and whilst not as hot as 2019/2020, fruit was picked a few weeks earlier than the previous years. These conditions allowed fruit to reach optimal ripeness with no weather stress experienced. As a result, 2021 will be remembered as a vintage that produced extremely high-quality fruit.

HARVEST

By hand in late February.

VINIFICATION

The fruit was gently whole bunch pressed to French oak barriques (33% new). Following a period of lees contact the wine was racked, blended and bottled.

TASTING NOTES

A rich, textural white with notes of stone fruit, beeswax and underlying hints of honeysuckle. The distinctive varietal aromas of this premium fruit have been subtly enhanced with barrel fermentation, creating a textured, elegant wine style.
